Painful but True

It’s officially ended.  The summer that I was so looking forward to is over in a flash.  I may even have flash burns…  I’ll have to check.

I will miss it until next summer but the girls are so glad to be back in school.  I wanted to make sure I got a picture of all the crazy things we did but instead I played with the girls and was entertained!  We did fun stuff, work stuff, crazy stuff and stupid stuff.  I did a lot of work and made tiny money that I’m sure I blew all on sonic drinks.  We saw Movies, lunched with friend's and for one full day we did nothing at all!  (That was the best)  We may have even took a nap or 2.  3.   4.  or 12.

Here are a some of my favorite events of the Summer!

It was the greatest summer break since the last one and I can’t wait until next year.  Hopefully I will be given a bunch of money before then so we can throw in a vacation and some shopping!

Traveler Trav

As the newest member of our family, I feel Traveler needs a Formal Introduction.  (Is it ‘needs a or needs an formal intro?)  Anyway he needs one.

185

We got news that the original owners of Traveler came by to see him and are proud he has some kids to follow around.  Apparently they are an older couple that lead a pretty uneventful/normal life and feel Traveler will have more fun here and maybe even have better care than they can provide.

192

They like his new name and feel it fits him although he has not left our yard in over 6 months.

197201

Since hearing the news about him being for sure ours, he has spent a lot more time in the house and even has started sleeping some inside….  He recently was kicked out though, because he barks at the window when he hears anything outside.206

The girls have been calling him Traveler Trav and he seams to like it.  He’s pretty protective of them and I love that if they are outside, he is right beside them or super close and watching.

He even gets along with Holly!  (We just can’t leave him alone with ducks……)  Have I mentioned we no longer have ducks?

Animal Update:

Most importantly Cupid.  She is now out of the house.  Sad but true.  The instincts started kicking in and she started grazing on our carpet.  My beloved carpet.  So she was acclimated slowly day by day to the barn.  An hour here, three hours there and finally all day, then another and then the night.  It was tough on us all and so sad to hear her cry when we left but now she’s very happy and all over the place.  She, by far is still our smallest goat but has by far the biggest personality.  (And biggest belly.)  She still loves to be held and comes when called.  I think she will always be a part of the family!!

We have her over occasionally..  When I say have her over, I mean she breaks though 3 fences to get to our house!  God love her!  So we invite her in for some breakfast and carpet and have her wake up Aubrey…. You may note that she now is the proud owner of an ear tag.  I could not be there that day (for obvious reasons) and Joshua told me it hurt his heart a little to do that…  Thank Goodness for Papa.  He held Cupid while she got her ear pierced.

176

Just ‘Chill’n’ in the front seat of my car…  Look at the belly on that girl!  Like her Momma!

177

Next on the list is the cows.

You will notice there is no picture.  That is because they are gone.  G.O.N.E.  Sad a little and happy a lot.  No more Cows!  We are officially Goat only farmers.  Home Growing Goats!  I love that we can concentrate on what we have really worked so hard for!  (And spent most our $$$ on)

Ms. Paris.  She’s back home.  I’m glad too a little becuase she is sweeter than ever.  Maybe the cows were her problem too!  She seams to like the goats but we keep the seperated anyway.  I love that when I go in the back yard or roll the windows down in my car, she’s right there to say Hi!  Sweet girl.  I may learn to ride her one day.  Never been big on riding horses.  Maybe one day…. Maybe…  She’s tall and all I can think about is what a long way to fall…  I WILL break something too.  I’d put $$ on it.

You know those sweet, little, cotton ball, fluffy puppies we got?  Now they are big, mean beasts that lay around and sleep unless a person or animal comes near.  Then they get all mean and want to eat me or anything.  I took this picture of them sleeping from upstairs.  They look huge even from 2 story's up.

 172

I’m glad to say all other of our animals are doing well.  The many many many other animals we have.

End of Summer is a Confusing Time…

I have no AAA pictures so those that come for a show will have to come again another day….  I wanted to get the word out though that I’m close to being ready for school to start.  The girls are starting to get board having done most of everything already and I’m tired of running them here and there and everywhere.  I a little tired too of the little to no routine we have and how that affects the girls moods!  Whow!

Yesterday was an all day trip involving several errands and several stores.  Every store you go into has some sort of school supplies.  Ever noticed that?  Even Walgreens and CVS…  Who goes there with school supply shopping in mind?  We found the girls dream backpacks early in the summer but have yet to start school supply and clothes shopping.  I prefer waiting to closer the the last minutes so it’s like an adventure trying to piece together an entire list.  Clothing shopping with a goal in mind is also mind numbing to me.  Hate it.  I’m a tee-shirt and jeans kinda gal with little to NO fashion sense.  I prefer the girls be the same but they like looking all in style and what not.  Geeze!

So I now have my 3 supply lists ready.  I have held down the girls and figured out the best sizes to buy them.  I have my coupons and discount cards ready and we I will be venturing out soon to get everything and hopefully all in one day.  I tried school supply shopping with the girls last year and ended up with a lot of extras.  Lordy!

I like this picture:

But thinking it will be more like this:

Goodness!

Now I’m also a little sad to know this is our last few weeks of summer.  I love summer.  I don’t love building fences and working animals in this weather but I love everything else.  I like that we have tea and lemonade/Kool-Aid and popsicles in our house everyday and that at any given moment I will see a girl streak past me in a swimsuit and make a bee line for the sprinkler.  I love waking up at anytime and not necessarily having anything to do.  We have yet to have a ‘lazy’ day of summer but it has been nice having the kids with me all the time.  (Also another reason for me to be about ready for school to start.)  Humm?

I’ll be ready for school by the end of this month but will be so sad.  I will act excited and happy but completely be a wreak.  My oldest baby did fine last year at her first full-time school and it was me the teachers had to be firm with and wrestle out of the building.  This year my middle baby starts.  How can I give perfect strangers my kids for the day?  It will all be worth it as it has shown me every year so far.  That first day car ride home when they look a year older then when I dropped them off and them telling me about how cool it is, all their new friends names, their “huge” classrooms and fabulous fun they had.  I love how that’s all they will talk about until bed time when they will be too excited to go back in the morning they can’t go to sleep that night.  Crap!

Those girls are growing up!  Crap!

Time for more!

Then those will go to school too wont they?

Crap!

I’ve been Called every name in the book…

Really..  Stop with the name calling.  It’s starting to hurt.  I have been called everything from blog slacker and blog fluky to blog looser and blog deserter but I’m not a blog quitter.

To Marie whom I miss and don’t have an email address for anymore, I’m here….  I’m so sorry summer has got the best of me…

To Gloria (Whom could pass for my twin sister if I had a better tan) I love your comments and think your the best!

To my Parents who get a small high from seeing their grandkids everyday.  I promise to not let you down again.  Stop the hate mail.

To my very best friend that encourages me to blog, tells me how important it is but NEVER reads my blog…  I love you despite that!

To all my devoted readers….  I can feel the evil stares and have received the death threats.  I’m here and have not forgotten about you.  I miss you.  I miss your comments and emails and phone calls telling me how absurd my posts are and that I should not tell people the things I tell!  I miss all that.  I miss blogging.

And to my loving meaty husband.  I so thank you for your pesky hints that even you like to read my blog.  How sweet but really…  You really read?  I should explain.  Those posts that sounded like I was complaining about you….  Not me.  Not me at all.  Not sure who wrote those things!

So I leave you all with this.  Until my life resembles normal again (HA) I’ll be posting as often as I can and hopefully once a day again very soon.  Until then, I have posted about 20 posts catching you up on all that I remember from July.

Read and enjoy!  But first enjoy my girls:

Family Time

This past Monday was my sister in laws 7th brain surgery.   She’s amazingly strong!  The night before her surgery we went to see her and when we found out she requested to go eat at a certain restaurant we have never been to…  What do we do?  We invite ourselves and then begged to go along….  They gave in and we went.  We had a blast!  Glad we had that time together…

Jordan helping Autumn eat with chopsticks….

A family picture..  I may have been at someone elses table and in between hungrey people and their food to get this shot.  I know its not great and it was just taken with my phone but I’m glad I got it…  It was worth the snickering and dirty looks.

Surgery went well and she’s at home already…  Pretty sure if I had brain surgery, I’d be out for months.

It has Begun

Cheer Practice has officially started and will officially be on my nerves until the end of football season.  The Moms are a little much and a few of the coaches are over the top but I’m sure it will be just great.

….

I should work on the tone of which I type.  Hateful.

Aubrey's 2 coaches are great and I look forward to the many many many practices and games and competitions that I will be attending for the next few months.  Yeah!  Again with that tone.

I should stop.

VBS

Last week was Vacation Bible School.  The girls loved it!  It was Cowboy/Ranch themed so Sunday night was called the showdeo.  We got to watch the week in pictures on the slideshow then outside to ride the longhorn and get faces painted.  Yes I said ride a longhorn…  Doesn't that happen at every church?

200

Annsley decided that the horns and ‘big cow’ were just not for her to ride on.  You just don’t ride cows in her world.  Or mine.

I’m Only Happy When it Rains

I love when it rains.   Love the sound on my tin roof, the smell and the view.  I open my windows and doors and just watch.  This day the girls were sleeping, the house was picked up and my work was done.  I was in the kitchen baking and the world was peaceful.  Then it stopped, the girls woke up and reality came back.  Wet smelly dogs, mud and wet floors.  Ahh..  there was that moment though.

Love Annsley!

She’s getting so big… The other day I found that she had loaded the dishwasher.  Strange to take a picture of?  Yes.  But this way I will never forget!

I love her.
