The Grand Goat Drive

Finally a full day with my girls and finally a post with pictures!!!

003

This day started with so many plans but unfortunately it was best for us (my sick coughing self) to stay away from people and the public so most of our day was spent here.

I was so thankful Joshua and the girls helped me catch up on the house.  We washed a weeks worth of towels and all the bedding.  We vacuumed, mopped and found homes for the countless toys in the floor of my living room.  (This is one weeks worth)

After a morning of house work, it was time for goat work.  It seams as though all labor signs have stopped and we are back on schedule for their original due dates.  We are preparing a little sooner because of this so today the goats had to move to the barn.  Closer to the house and better for birth’n babies!  This entailed an official goat drive and I think Joshua said it best when he compared it to herding cats!

(Out of the fence for the first time)

Look at those bellies!

A few changed their mind about going to the barn and came running back to me.  I love these ladies!

Autumn feeding them feed and Annsley feeding hay with her daddy's old dump truck.  She drove to every stall and dropped in some hay!

Every little cowgirl needs a break, play time,

and maybe a little alone time

then maybe some daddy time.

Having finished our only chores for the day, Joshua decided we needed to go get a few more veggies to plant so we ran to town and got….  I was sneezing and coughing so I have no idea what he got, but I do know Aubrey got her a strawberry plant.  The goal was to come home, plant, and then nap.

It went more like girls nap on the way home and Joshua plant while I go inside for a bit.  Here’s my view

153 Here’s my view of the flowers I planted the other day.  The pole is in the way of some…

151 It’s a start….  Slowly but maybe surely!

At this point we were board so when Granny called to see if we wanted to fish, Joshua and the girls jumped all over it.  I just made sure their was a chair I could sit it…

First things first.. The monster puppies.  They are HUGE!  I have never seen anything like these before.

Then onto fishing.

Aubrey was not so much into the fishing and the other girls found the yellow flowers a little more entertaining.  I think maybe Joshua caught a fish.  Not sure.   Too tired.

Glad we got out of the house, so thanks Gran and Lar for the invite!

And Most Important:

Today is one year from the day my Grandpa Jack died.  I’m not sad he’s gone, I’m sad it’s been that long I have been without him.  I still miss him but I’m so happy that all 3 of my girls still remember him.  I have so much of him in my house and I’m so thankful my girls can see, touch and use some of the things he made or gave to us.

I miss also my other Grandpa Jack, My Granny and Grandmother and days like today make me think it’s been too long since I have talked to them or hugged them.  My house is also full of their things and it could not make me happier to use a toy box Granddaddy Jack made or the dishes from Granny and Grandmother.

Their things mean more to me then anything brand new!  I’m so lucky to have as much as I do!  I sure hope all they all know how crazy I am about them.  I will forever tell my kids their stories and then my grandkids!
