My Sister….

‘To Have a Sister is to have a best friend for life’

Today, My Sister and I went to a parenting seminar.  It was so great and I love the logical ways they teach.  Here are the highlights really so I can let them sink in further and so I can look back to remember.  I’m going to have to remind myself a lot of these things……

I learned how to stay calm so I don’t send my child messages that they are uncontrollable.

I learned how to get my child to want to behave and want to do chores and how important those things are to my kids as they grow up.

The most important thing I learned was that you have to raise your child with a limits, chores and love so they will never go anywhere else to feel needed or loved and they will learn limits so they will only have a small price to pay for the consequences instead of a larger price when they are older.  And, if our children are raised wrapped in bubble wrap they will one day not be able to defend or run our country.  Other countries are not raising bubble wrapped children!

It was so much fun and during our lunch break we even did a little thrift store shopping.  I got the cutest ‘Baby Nay’ outfit for Annsley.  I’m so excited.  It’s probably a $100.00 outfit I got for $3.00!

It was such a fun day.  I love days I spend with my Sister!  Thanks to the many babysitters that made this day possible!  Love Y’all!

My Sister also has a new store for her ‘Wire Names’.  It’s online and called

  Wired~Up!

Here are a few examples although what you order is completely custom to you!  Mention you saw her store on my blog to get an added bonus from me!

always the opposite of everyone else..

I’m so excited because in the morning, (or in the middle of the night when I go check on the girls) I will not have to step onto a cold floor.  We got carpet!   Most people now days are pulling up carpet and laying wood floors… Not us!  Nope!  Were not the norm.

This is how our house looked this morning…. I did not get a before of Autumn’s room for some reason.

This is what it looked like when I left.  Oh My

Thank you Emily, Aidan, Isabelle and Noah for meeting us for lunch so we were not stuck in the kitchen!

Here is what I came home to.  (After Joshua and I moved all the furniture back)

We have made our first ever furniture purchases last month and they will be in about a week or so and then I will get some curtains and big girl decorations for our house!  It will be a very slow process but I’m excited to finally have it going!  My bedroom is going to be a huge undertaking but I’m the most excited about that.  Kitchen needs a backsplash and a few tiny details and then the girls rooms need curtains and a few things but are not hard and wont be that expensive.

With us moving in this August, then having 2 birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and then another birthday, these projects have been much anticipated and long over due.  Thankfully we are officially started and plan on having most of everything finished this summer.  I guess I will never be finished with the house but you know what I mean.  Right?

Things that make me Smile…

Wanna smile during your whirl wind of a day?  Need a mood lightener when things are a little heavy?  Wanna find things like rocks, bugs in jars, one tiny little piece of glitter or a string in every pocket of the pants you are folding.  What about frogs in your fridge?Well…

Let me bring my Aubrey over… You may think the little things she does is quirky or odd but I promise during your day you will laugh out loud at least 16 times before dinner.

 031

She’s so hard to be mad at.  No matter what she has done.  And it’s because of what she has done!  She’s such a space cadet joy.

034

My Calamity is also funny.  Today Annsley gave her a carrot and she LOVED it!

And because I can’t leave Annsley out, here is what she looked like before going outside to play for a few minutes.  She has coveralls, coat, 2 hats and the hood of her coat on.  If I could have covered her mouth and nose AND make sure she could still breath, I would have.

I was really hoping to have an interesting post about some changes going on at the “Messy House” but it will have to wait until tomorrow.  I also have a very exciting store to tell you about.  Stay tuned…..  Good posts coming this weekend!

Sister, Aubrey, Papa

My sister and I got to hang out today.  That is something that just does not happen that often thanks to the drive between us and our very busy lives.   058

She has been working on a Etsy store for sometime and today we did some tweaking, personalizing and pictures. 059

The little girls went along and played in Ramey’s room. 060

Leave it to Aubrey to find the musical instruments 061

She talked about this in the car until she feel asleep.

 062

We had so much fun!  Wish I could go more.  More about her store to come!063

Today is my Father In Laws birthday.  I want to wish him a very happy birthday.  He is such a sweet and genuine guy but my favorite thing about him is that he absolutely loves my kids and would do anything for them.  My kids are so blessed by the Grandpa’s, Granddaddy's, Papa, and Pawpaw’s they have.

Happy Birthday Papa!  We enjoyed the dessert with you tonight (too bad I forgot the memory card for my camera) and hope you have a great birthday!

Just Me Rambling is All

I only go get my hair done about 3-4 times a year and February 23; only 2 months in and I already had roots.  Big bad ones.

So I trucked into town and got my hair done.  While I was there I had a great opportunity.

Now, anyone that knows me knows I am God fearing and a believer in Him.  We talk daily..  Were tight.   But NO-ONE would call me a ‘Bible thumper’ or anything else related to someone who’s life revolves around church and preaching God’s word.

People would also call me a realist and a questioner.  I have questioned and got some really great preachers thinking at times.  I have only come across two people in my life that were blatant non-followers.  (Note I said non-followers not believers.) One was today.  After I mentioned that I was a realest and did question a lot and did attend church, I was asked if it was all real.  I was a little surprised by the question in which I replied YES and then explained.  She seamed curious.  She went on to say that Church’s were full of hypocrites.  And again I replied YES! then explained.  I have struggled with this same thing but finally am at a point where I understand why.

I wont go into details because I’m not going to try to preach but it felt good today saying the things I did and getting a positive response like I did.  I don’t know if I did God proud, but I did me proud!  I did end with saying this…  Whether proven or not, it’s the life I want to live.  A life of accountability, forgiveness, and morals.  Hopefully people that know me do see that about me.  Really, I just wanted to share my story.  Again.

I had a little time after my sermon hair appointment so I ran to Target to look for a mirror to go on the back of my ‘closet' door.  I wanted something cheep and found one for $5.  It going on the door of my built in so has to be small so it can be built into the door.  I think once I pull the ugly cheep molding off and he puts new around it and the door, it will actually look kinda cute!  Let’s hope anyway..  I need a way to see how not thin I look these days!

Got it home and realized I was not the only one that loves the mirror.  I might have to leave the door open all the time once it’s installed.

   105

It’s 11:45 p.m. right now and Calamity just woke up and must have forgotten about the mirror. She’s growling at herself.  Too funny just hope she does not wake my little people up!

The dog is not the only one…  This Cat loves to stare at itself.  You can see all the nose prints in the glass already!

106

And there is ME!  Ewwe

111

Might as well get some hair pictures?  Like?

Should not look any different that what I normally get have naturally!
