Yesterday I Cleaned

today I hurt.

Yes Miranda, I did write in cleaner on my stove and took a picture! ; )
If you know me well you know this is a challenge. I sometimes hate to clean and sometimes I like to clean. Today was a day I wanted to clean. I cleaned out closets, drawers, cabinets and just about everything. I even put lots in the attic! I did not stop! I cleaned though lunch right up until dinner. The laundry is done. (Thanks Mom for putting shirts on hangers and helping me put it away.) She will do anything for a free supper! Then the girls were so tired they went right to sleep so I got into bed and have taken it pretty easy.
I have had a few questions about why and how do I blog and why the hell would I take a picture of the things I do. Hi sis! Well, it's all in the name of journalism. You can just forget about your past and look it up in increments as you wish! So the post just before this is all the info about blogging I have. I highly recommend blogging....

I've looked back at my other blog from this week last year. So fun! Shall we?

This week last year:
"Annsley dropped a socket wrench or something like that that was insanely heavy on her second toe and now it's black and miserable looking. We think she broke it, but there is nothing that can be done about it so I just give her some Tylenol and anything she wants really." (This picture was taken several days later when it was not so swollen and blue) Joshua also got his toolbox broken into and Aubrey was healing from a ruptured ear drum this same week.

Look at those baby fat feet. Oh how a year can change a baby into a big girl. God I want another!
Yesterday morning I was cooking breakfast and Annsley asked what I was cooking so I told her bacon and pancakes. She looked up at me with one of her billion facial expressions and said "your not going to burn them are you?"
Fast forward to almost dinner time and Aubrey asking what we were going to have. After telling her and hearing her plea for Tony's she finally got to the point. With those puppy eyes she looked me in the eyes and told me she does not really like the food I cook, she just eats it to be nice.
Oh, I need help!

I got this this email from my sister today and think it's only appropriate:

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

Life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own."

God Bless You..... Now, and Always....

So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine.!.!.!.! And PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did!
