Today is the first day of spring and we spent it in the snow looking at our snow covered flowers.
The girls played all day in the snow knowing it probably will be the last for a long time. (Hopefully anyway.) They came in every once in a while for dry gloves or to warm up. I mostly watched from the comfort of my big chair in my warm living room watching out the window.
For the past few weeks, I have been feeding a neighborhood dog. I have named him Traveler because I see him miles down the road sometimes and really he’s just all over the place. I cannot resist a dog that may not have a home. I tried to get him into the house one day and he ran and hid in the first corner he could find. Today I found him with snow and ice stuck to him so I MADE him come in the house. I let him stay in the laundry room until he dried off and then let him go around the house. He even played outside with Calamity and the girls. I wished he would not wonder off. I’m working on him! He comes every day and waits for food so maybe he will just start staying here.

Remember the other day when I posted how I cleaned and organized my laundry room? Today with the in and out of coats and new dry coats, this is what my laundry room looked like today! WOOOOW Neely! Thank goodness Joshua was sweet enough to help me dry and hang all those coats, gloves and hats! It’s all clean in there again! Ahhhh I can sleep tonight!
Then we had to go feed. Ms. Paris has had some trouble since we moved her and yesterday she had a big tummy issue so we went today to check on her today. (We actually thought she may die.) We realized one of the baby cows was missing. Joshua and I (Joshua mostly) had to wrangle a baby cow though barbed wire. Awe the life of a small time ‘cattlemen’!
That really works up an appetite and because all the restaurants are either closed or close really early on Sunday around here, we went to town and ate somewhere new. It was so good and the girls were being so funny! Even the waiter got a kick out of the girls! I Had to get a picture!!
It was an amazing day with my family. I Had so much fun with them and I even managed to sneak in a family laundry folding session! (This is why I blog! I would normally forget a day like today and when life gets hectic, hard, and people are mad at me… This will be one of those posts I will look at.)
Tomorrow is back to school and back to real life. That’s just painful for me. I loved having my girls with me this week but I will love my everyday same ol same ol being back!
Hellow Alarm Clock! (Think it’s too much to ask for tomorrow to be a snow day?)
First of all, I'm just a little jealous because our snow didn't stick, bot whatever.
ReplyDeleteAnywho, looks like the girls had a blast in the snow!! And Traveler is so stinkin' cute!
Hope all the animals are safe, and healthy!
And I am glad that you blog too!!! Great job staying committed to it as well!
I love the pic of the dog rolling in the snow. There may never be another like it.
